I Shall Aspire

In this age,
so many resolutions, laws, legal cases,
so many sued, divorced,
so much remorse.

So many theories and rights to be protected,
so much arguing, lying and deceit
to reach "just" ends.

So much rationalization, indignation, condemnation,
liberalism, conservatism,
cult and occult.

There are insinuations, ego trips, power plays,
political maneuvers, connivance's,
manipulations.

Left wing,
Right wing, lobbying,
Independent, Democrat,
Republican.

So many opinions,
blind opinions, arrogant opinions,
biased, angry, just , unjust opinions.

So many opinions rationalizing causes away
into unimportance, insignificance,
smallness,
scandal, harassment,
nothing.

In this great nation,
with its abundance of freedom,
who shall we follow? Trust?
Depend on?

What greatness shall we aspire to
in this quagmire?

What truths of our forefathers' still remain?
And I say truths uncorrupted!

Only one.

My Father, who is in heaven...

This shall I aspire to.
