The Two of Us

Looking up at the great mountains,
at the cliffs, crevices, slopes and varied color of the trees,
at the plants, grasses and rocks that cling,
following the lines, the contours,
I almost see, very much sense,
God's hand there creating the grandness,
stroking, forming, pressing in here, drawing out there.
Holding my breath,
right now,
my God,
wondrous Lord,
friend,
heart keeper,
head lifter,
here,
very near,
the two of us,
gazing,
enjoying the quiet mountains.

Sometimes too,
the quiet of wet, heavy, dense snow falls,
snow weighting down the trees,
dampening all sound,
everything soo white,
nothing seeming to move,
except the falling snow,
life sheltered beneath,
waiting for renewal,
my God,
wondrous Lord,
friend,
heart keeper,
head lifter,
here,
very near,
the two of us watching,
sharing quiet words.

Joy, Aimee, Cherie...LOVE THE BLOG! Thanks for mentioning it on FB. Cherie, I had no idea you lived in SC. I saw a post/pic of you on the TASOK Picture Trail site just last week and realized for the first time that you live in Greenville. I'm in Charleston...other end of the state...but pretty close by world standards. I've shot several weddings up that way. If you're ever down here, let me know and if you'd like me to have your contact info I'd be happy to do the same. Cheers...

Joy, you evoke in me the feeling you had at that moment. And I know that feeling from gazing at other views of the world and universe. We share that because you wrote that. Keep it up, girl.
